You can now pay with Bitcoins on Host1.no
torsdag, oktober 3rd, 2013Host1 has now started to accept Bitcoins as a payment-option. All of our clients will now have the option to pay through «Bit-pay» when paying invoices. If you choose to pay with Bit-pay the amount on the invoice will still be shown in NOK, but will be paid with Bitcoin through Bit-pay.
When you choose to pay with Bit-pay you will be sent to a external site (Bit-pay) where you will receive a unique bitcoin-address which can be used to pay the invoice.

tirsdag, september 17th, 2013Host1 har fra og med i dag begynt å akseptere Bitcoins som betalingsmetode. Alle våre kunder vil nå få opp «Bit-pay» som et ekstra valg når fakturaer skal betales. Velger du å betale med Bit-pay vil summen på fakturaen fremdeles oppgis i NOK, men betales i Bitcoins.
Når du velger å betale med Bit-pay vil du videresendes til en ekstern nettside hvor du får en adresse du kan bruke til å betale fakturaen.

PROBLEM
A core router at our network provider in Digiplex, Oslo suffered a
hardware fault. The fault forced the router to reboot every 5 minutes,
after successfully building neighborships with the network. Thus
resulting in accepting traffic, forwarding some traffic and then
rebooting while the rest of the network «thought» it was still
forwarding traffic, thus forcing some traffic to be dropped.
IMPACT
Our redundant network suffered some short drops in network due to the
problems with the core router at the network provider while the provider
replaced core equipment.
SOLUTION
Hardware and software were replaced, and traffic was re-routed through
other paths in the network. There has also been made some changes in the
infrastructure to ensure higher uptime in case of a new outage on the
core router.
In addition to this we have been ensured that steps are being taken to
improve the resiliency of the network, upgrades will be implemented the
next week.

Host1 vil gjerne informere om at vi har gjort om på vårt system for driftsmeldinger. For å sikre at våre kunder alltid har tilgang til oppdaterte driftsmeldinger har vi nå opprettet en dedikert twitter-konto som vi vil bruke til å informere våre kunder om eventuelle problemer med våre tjenester. Vi benytter oss av twitter og ekstern hosting til dette for å sikre at alle våre kunder alltid vil ha tilgang til oppdaterte driftsmeldinger uavhengig av status på våre tjenester.
Iløpet av 1-2 uker vil http://www.serverstatus.no inneholde en webside som henter oppdaterte driftsmeldinger fra twitter for å presentere dette på en mer oversiktlig måte, i mellomtiden redirecter domenet til twitter-kontoen http://twitter.com/h1status . Anbefaler at alle kunder som bruker twitter følger denne twitter-kontoen for å få oppdaterte driftsmeldinger.

Utplassering hos Host1
mandag, november 26th, 2012Denne uken (Uke 48) har Host1 en elev på utplassering fra Medier & Kommunikasjon på Risør VGS.
Jonathan Ibsen er hos oss denne uken og vil hjelpe til med dokumentasjon, support på LiveChat og IRC, samt diverse annet. Det vil nok også komme noen oppdateringer på bloggen fra Jonathan denne uken med litt informasjon om hvordan han har det på utplassering hos oss, samt hva han har gjort.
Til daglig (utenom skolen) driver han med utvikling og serverdrift.
Vi ser frem til å jobbe med Jonathan denne uken, lykke til!
Host1 DA er nå Host1 AS
fredag, november 9th, 2012Etter litt over 3 års drift har vi nå endelig fått omdannet Host1 DA til Host1 AS.
For våre kunders del vil det ikke være noen særlig merkbar endring, det er samme eiere og personale som før, forskjellen er nå at vi er et aksjeselskap i stedet for et DA (Delt Ansvar).
Våre kunder vil nå få fakturaer fra Host1 AS, og vil måtte betale regninger til ett nytt kontonummer.
